Identify this queen

Re: Identify this queen
Should I wait til she has workers to feed her or just feed her now?
Re: Identify this queen
Feed her now. She had workers, and has expended her resources she left her nest with. I caught a Camponotus queen in a similar way to this (The workers I managed to catch abandoned the queen), and she didn't survive. Although this may have something to do with the fact that four out of the five Camponotus queens I've caught have died within a few months of capture.

So I gave her this leg of some insect a lasius colony was eating outside my house and she hasn't touched it. It's been there for about 10 mins on a piece of aluminum foil. Wait or give her honey? I know she'll accept the honey because I've given it to her twice but there's no protein in it
Re: Identify this queen
Update: she approached the insect leg and sniffed around but retreated back to her brood
Re: Identify this queen
That probably has to do with pheromones present from the Lasius.

Re: Identify this queen
I figured that might be it. Would boiling the leg get rid of them as well as any bacteria that might be present?
Re: Identify this queen
It's best to leave her alone, dont disturb her by removing the leg.
