A friend of mine found this queen ant today. What species is this queen ant? Also, what is the common name? I still have yet to find a queen ant myself.

Definetely does look like a camponotus, I'm not sure on the species, and we need measurements and where you found it (country, state/territory).

Camponotus are also known as carpenter ants or sugar ants in different countries.
Hi I'm Jack, How are you?

This seems like Camponotus vicinus or a similar species, though we cannot tell without measurements.
