If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.

Yep, I agree 100%. I have found four of these little beauties already this year. I let mine go. I'm not ready for a parasite Queen just yet. It would have been a different story if I had more knowledge of the Lasius sp in general.
Keeping:
Camponotus subbarbatus
Camponotus pennsylvanicus x2
Crematogaster ashmeadi
Crematogaster missouriensis
Formica pallidefulva x2
Formica subsericea x2
Lasius sp x2 (founding)
Pheidole sp. x4
Tetramorium caspitum x2

I was going to set her free this morning however when I checked on her in her test tube setup she unfortunately passed away.
