I don't know the circumstances by which this worker was caught (is it possible that they were holding the eggs during that time?)

Regardless, workers (especially from orphaned colonies) do lay eggs, but since the eggs are unfertilized, they will only produce layabout males.

Does it look like a camponotus noveboracensis queen?

It's not a queen. We would need clearer photographs with better lighting to make an attempt at the species. Include images of the front of the head.

I did not scoop up any eggs in the test tube because the ant just crawled in(I didn't see eggs with it and it was alone without other ants)
