I caught her in Hong Kong, China last Sunday. She is around 1.5cm in length.

Some sort of Ponerine. I can't tell without more, clearer photos, but I think she's a worker.

A ponerine queen (adjective), from Ponerinae (the subfamily), will often look very worker-like. Since the photo is underexposed, it's too dark to see whether there are wing scars or not.

Thanks for that lesson. I think I read somewhere that higher classifications aren't italicized.
