Size: About 8mm
When: 5/9/2024 11:30 AM
Where: Backyard on my glass door
Appearance: Dark red head, reddish-black thorax, dark red abdomen, dark red legs and antenna
Behaviour: Moves a little bit but stays in one spot mostly, didn't run around while I was taking a photo/exposed to light for a few seconds

I haven't been in the ant community in almost 3 years now but I just saw this "queen" ant and it called me - Emphasis on Queen, from my limited knowledge and memory I think it's a queen but I could be wrong.. sorry!

I'm pretty sure she is a queen of species pseudomyrmex gracilis. They are semi-claustral and are also called twig ants. Also probably the reason she isn't very disturbed by light is because in the wild she would go out and hunt for food pretty often.
Ants: Clumsy Lily(Carebara sp? Monomorium sp.?), Silverfish(Camponotus persius). Intermediate ant keeper!
