Size: Queen = around 12 – 13 mm, Worker = around 5 - 6mm
When: 30 September 2023, 9 pm -12 am
Where: Botanical Garden, Penang, Malaysia
Appearance: Queen = Black, Slightly square and long head, long thorax (about the same size as its abdomen); Workers = Black, small abdomen (just slightly larger than its head).
Behavior: The queen quite easily gets nervous when having a small vibration or lighting. But it calmed back after I put her back into the dark.

They're Colobopsis leonardi, they are one of the few species of Colobopsis known as exploding ants. Not all Colobopsis are exploding ants.

Thank you so much!! I have been looking for this species for quite some time, but can't similar to it. By the way, does she belong to claustral or semi-claustral? I tried searching online, some said claustral, and some said Semi-claustral.

I have kept this species before but I am not entirely sure about its founding method, I tried it semi-claustrally and it worked but some people can get them to workers without feeding so I guess this is something you have to try for yourself.
