New ant ID! I was outside talking with my family when I saw this ant and picked it up. As I took a closer look, to my surprise it was a queen!! I found this in Buffalo, NY. It’s black and looks like it could be Formica guava or Lasius Niger but I cannot tell

She is a Formica species.
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.
