Size: About 3 mm

When: June 14, 6:00 pm

Where: Heber city, Utah in a small neighborhood. 5,600' Elevation mountain valley

Appearance: dull black carapace, red mandibles, elongated gaster, white lower half of legs, could move gaster from left to right 180 degrees.

Behavior: mostly calm, after being in a setup for about 20 minutes was still just exploring around the test tube.

Additionally: Where I found them there were some Tetramorium imagrans that looked like they were on deaths doorstep. We have had a record breaking year for snow and rainfall, highest level of moisture since the early 1990ies. This led to a very late starting spring.

I believe she is a Tapinoma sessile worker.
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.
