Hi I just got into ant keeping and found my first queen randomly while shopping!
She still had her wings when caught but she was far away from any possible nest and she started laying eggs on the 2nd night. She likes to stay directly on the wet cotton side of the test tube and she seems to have some tiny hairs.
Around 10mm in size, Caught September 1th in Houston, Texas around the time of some recent rain.
