Ant Queen in Israel

It's very hard to judge from the pictures. Could you give a detailed description? Like size, the location where you found her, coloration, etc.

its about a little more the half a cm long dark brown with faint light stripes on her gastor. I found it in my kitchen in the judean hills.

she seems a bit skinnier the one pictured looks fatter this one is long and slim.

Now I am by no means an expert in identifying ants, but you can probably make a well-educated guess if you check the Lasius section on http://antwiki.org/wiki/Israel
If she isn't a Lasius you are more than likely to find her species on that page anyway, as it lists all the species in your area. You can disregard all the Camponotus ants by the way as they are much larger!

If she's long and thin, that might indicate she's not a claustral but a semi-claustral queen. Which means that she will leave her nest to forage for food if she hasn't produced any offspring yet to do this for her.

She has laid eggs but she still has her wings so im mildly nervous (this is my first try at this) if she is not semi claustral will any food i give her harm her? If she is how long can i leave her shes been in the test tube for almost 3 weeks?
