Caught in central Texas on May 4, 2019.
Length is appx 8mm.
Really hoping she's not a Solenopsis invicta. I found her at a wedding. They were saying "here comes the bride" and all I could think was "is that a queen??" I picked her up with a little napkin and kept her in my pocket all night!

Solenopsis Invicta.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.

Thanks. Kind of a bummer, I'm scared to keep fire ants...
