Ant Identification - NSW, Australia

Hi there everyone
Very new here myself. I had been looking around the back of my property at night when I found around 5-6 of these little guys.
I'm very new to ant identifying so I'm not entirely sure what type these are. They are mostly black except they have a small bronze like tinge on their legs. They have a fairly large gaster, though I don't think their thorax is large enough to be a queen. They are fairly big too, I would probably say between around 10-12mm-ish. I was unsure if they were a type of Carpenter ant?
the picture I have taken would of been about 7pm at night, this was the day after a rainy day, if that means anything too.
I am excited for what you guys might think they are :)

They are from the genus Polyrachis.
Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.
