I found a new queen. Again when I wasn't even looking. She was in my pool, half drowned.
Her name is Ophelia.
[I'm freakin hilarious]
She's acting normal now so she wasn't that close to dying I suppose.
Also she has shed her wings since I took her picture [about an hour later, since I was making sure she was okay], and was even missing one already when I got her out of the pool.

I live in Northern Florida, and I caught her today at about, idk, 2pm.
She's i'd say 3-4mm long. Big booty. Quite concerned with cleaning herself.

It's Solenopsis invcta, Red imported fire ant. I live in Pensacola and I caught about 40 of them in my pool yesterday! They are very common in this area.

Re: ID Help [Again]
I was just down in Florida! I got back last night. I went to the Matecumbe key. I heard someone talking about how bad the RIFA are up north and in Pensacola especially. Everywhere I went on the island there was Pheidole megacephala, Paratrechina longicornis, Brachymyrmex sp. and possibly argentine ants. It was really sad to see the entire island full of invasive species. Even though I was out at sea for 95% of my stay I saw two queens, a Brachymyrmex queen and a Paratrechina longicornis queen.
