I see that this is an old post but I'm new to ant keeping so thought I'd see if you have a "meetup" of sorts going?

I don’t know of any meetings that go on here in Chicago/ Chicagoland area.

Thanks for letting me know. TheRealAntMan, have you hibernated your Camponotus ants? I have two camp. queens with eggs so I know this is a bit premature but if they are still going this winter can I hibernate them in the refrigerator? I am a bit concern about it but I don't have any other option as I live in an apartment.

I have not hibernated this Camponotus colony, having recently obtained the colony. However I have hibernated past colonies in a wine cooler. Putting your ants in a fridge is okay as long as you put the fridge on its lowest setting.

Oh good to know, I guess I will be trying out that setting with my fridge before winter. Thanks for the help. :D
