I'm from Columbus! Just starting the hobby :P

I've caught 3 queens after 4 trips on trails ( 1-2 hour walks per trip )

1 of the 3 queens (Formica I believe, but unsure...) is laying eggs and actively protecting/watching over them.

The other 2 queens (Both Camponotus, for sure) are laying eggs, but they're scattered and they don't tend to them.

So I'm 75% success on catching queens.
But only 33% on catching fertile queens...
Which means 25% chance per trip of catching a fertile queen.

Hoping she does well :)

So... apparently today was a Formica nuptial flight extravaganza. In Columbus, I caught 21 queens today. 19 are Formica. I’m unsure of the other 2. I’m more than willing to share (for free) if anyone wants to contact me about them! I’ve tubed every single one of them.

:)

Please go thru the AntsCanada GAN Project for Queens. Also please read the rules for the forums Specifically Rule # 21

21) There will be no trading (this includes giving them away to other others), or selling of any ant species on the forums. Do Not post requests for ants from other forum users, Do Not advertise sales of ants to other forum members, Do Not advertise your company that sales ants. There will be one warning to the user (unless the situation deems a full ban) about it and the next time will be a permanent ban of the user or users. All sales will go thru the GAN Project -> http://www.AntsCanada.com/queen-ants-for-sale/

The rules for the forums can be found here ----> https://forum.AntsCanada.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2

There are 4 GAN farmers in Ohio, from Akron, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Grove City. According to the GAN page, they currently have no ants. It makes sense, since it's almost winter time.
"God made every kind of wild beasts and every kind of livestock and every kind of creeping things;" (including ants) "and God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:25
