The AC Ant Keeping Handbook needs an update.

After reading the copy I obtained a while back, I noticed much erroneous information throughout the book. As an example, there is the inclusion of Ecitonninae as a valid subfamily and the merging of several others into the "Poneromorphs." These are also italicized, whereas only genus and species should be. The book also contains products which h ave been discontinued by AntsCanada.

Also, there is on pages 38 and 39 sections as to "know if your queen has mated." There is no real, scientific way to tell. It seems as if most of the info given is anecdotal, and the book constantly refers back to AntsCanada in a way that makes it seem like the only trustworthy source. Grammar is also a problem, but not as pressing a matter as others stated.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, we have realized that we need to publish an update. Hopefully we can find some free time to update it later this year.
