so i got some mini mealworms from pet co about a month ago. the container said live but, when i opened it up about 85 of the 100 mealworms have died. each week i lose about 1-3 more. now most of them are dead. when i cut them open i see that the dead mealworm is hollow. should i soak them in water, sugar water, honey or just not feed them at all?

I wouldn't feed them. If you are going to keep them, you need to give them oats + some veggies (for water). 1 thing my ants have loved are frozen meal worms. Just toss them in the freezer, and you're good to go. Take one out and cut it up when you are ready to feed the ants.My ants actually prefer frozen ones to fresh ones, not sure what that is about. They are young colonies though.

Buying meal worms, you HAVE to check to make sure they are alive when you buy them. I have had the same thing happen to me before.

I would just like to add that buying live mealworms online is very cheap. Most of the time they arrive alive even with the 2-3 day shipping option. The same goes for superworms. I like to buy my feeders online from either Josh'sFrogs or RainbowMealworms (both are quality online stores for feeders).
