Hi, my queens first workers are around now and I don't have any insects at the moment, would meats such as beef, chicken, pork etc work in small servings for protein? And for sugar, honey or chocolate?

all of those are OK for feeding. just don't take insects from the outside.
almost one year of ant keeping :D

a restarting camponotus queen
one crematogaster queens
and 10-12 lasius umbratus queens (to lazy to count them all) :lol:
