Do ants eat cooked meat?
Let’s say I cooked chicken or beef for me and my family, would it still be edible for ants?
Re: Do ants eat cooked meat?
Yes but only some species would eat it.

Why keep ants that aren't found in your yard?
There are so many fascinating ants right where you live!
I disagree with the keeping/buying of ants that aren't in your area.

Alright, makes sense, thanks
Re: Do ants eat cooked meat?
Thank you, that is good to know. I've got trouble finding protein that my T. caespitum do accept. I will give that a try.antperson24 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 10, 2023 8:08 amLike SYUTEO, some will, my T. immigrans colony loves meat.
Is it best practice to give it to them cooked (but unseasoned)? Raw meat can be a health hazard for humans and pets, so I suppose ants could be affected as well?

Probably unseasoned, but I don't think raw would hurt them.Lowski wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 7:07 amThank you, that is good to know. I've got trouble finding protein that my T. caespitum do accept. Re: Do ants eat cooked meat?
Ants in the wild can eat rotting meat and many species are often found feeding on animal carcasses so I guess raw meat should be ok. Remember to remove any chunks they didn't finish or else their enclosure will start to smell.Lowski wrote: ↑Mon Feb 27, 2023 7:07 amThank you, that is good to know.
