This is how I raise them, fairly simple. I have a three tier pladtic storage container, got it from walmart. Buy a bag of wheat bran from a feed store. Put a couple of inches of wheat bran in all the containers. Dump the meal worms in the bottom container. Put a slice of carrot in this container as well. They need the moisture, be sure you do not get the bran wet. Wait a week or three, when you see pupa move them into the container above. Then move the bugs into the top container. It will take a couple months to get established. When there is a lot of frass in the container with the meal worms, sift the worms out put in another container, dump the wheat bran and fill with fresh bran. Repeat process, the worms and bugs both need moisture, the pupae do not. This setup just takes a few minutes a day to move the pupae and bugs. The worms will eat the eggs and pupae, the bugs will eat the eggs as well.

Also it would be best to buy a container of meal worms every week or so and dump in until it gets established, otherwise you will not have meal worms for a week or two after the worms have all turned into bugs.
