Heating pad temp
I have a heating pad that i want to use some time but it is for seeds and goes up to 80 degrees F. I was wondering if this is too hot and would cook my ants?

Re: Heating pad temp
If your setting the nest on top of the heating pad then yes you will most likely cook your ants unless the nest is really really big and they can escape from the heat by moving to the other side of the nest. Best bet is to place the heating pad a few inches or more to one end of the nest (this is what I do), this will allow radiated heat (not full contact heat) to be directed a little towards the nest and if the ants want to move brood close to it they will decide on the right distance from the heat source to place them.
