Hi,
I'm making a small formicarium and I would like to put a few sensors and LCD in it, but I need to seal the components somehow. I purchased "PENOSIL Premium Greenhouse Silicone", but I'm not totally clear if it's safe. The package doesn't state anything about any additional components, but as far as I know some building materials contain substances that repel insects. Is this type of silicone safe? is there a better material? Thanks!

Re: Sealing components/parts inside the nest
I had to use silicone to seal off some of the connections too. I checked at a german antshop and they were selling aquarium silicon. Most likely because they were using it themself for crafting custom anttanks and also due to their personal experience with that product.
Doing some proper research is the best way to start an antcolony.
