What environment?

Hey guys, I have 6 Iridomyrmyx queens and a pheidole queen, now I know that it'll be a while before I need to move them from their test tube setups, buuuuuuuut I would like to know what environments these two genus of ants prefer, I've been told that Iridomyrmyx like scrubland but I have caught both types of ants on footpaths, so Im not really sure what their best environment is.

this is for when I make my own natural setup.

I'm from Australia by the way

thanks.

It depends on species often, although I wouldn't be surprised if they did best in that environment.

What do you reckon about pheidole? Or is it the same, scrublands? I'm also thinking of making a more bushland terrarium for my ants, with a bit more green.

I don't personally know. Pheidole live everywhere from the tropics to the deserts. Understanding the surrounding area of the sidewalk where you caught her would be a start. ;)
