Ant Trapping?

So an idea came to me about how to catch queen ants. I have been trying and trying to catch a queen for a while now(although I have a RIFA colony as well as a pheidole queen I think), and I haven't been able to find any. So I took 10 test tubes and put red contrustion paper around it and taped it off. I put 6 in the back yard and put them in dark places that I think queens might go searching for a place. I'm waiting for the morning to check, as I suspect that they are flying at night because I see male ants dead in the morning. Has anybody else tried this? Do you think it could or would work?

It could work I guess, but you'll probably find that the queen ant will find the test tube entrance too open and dismiss your tube as suitable nest location.

it's not likely to work, but there is nothing wrong with trying!
Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
