Questions on a homemade Formicariums

Okay, so I am aware of all the things needed and what not.

So I have my Hebel (Ytong) it's roughly 600 x 200 x 100 mm (23.622 x 7.87402 x 3.93701 inches). I haven't gotten a species yet, the Iridomyrmex spp. is commencing its Neptuil flight soon.

So my point of this was, is there a certain pattern I should cut my chambers out in?
and, Once I have it set up. Should I spray the back of it with water or stand it vertical in a tray of water?

Thanks for the response!

I don't have any experience with Ytong nests, but please update this thread with your findings/research.

Where did you get you Ytong from if you dont mind me asking?
As far as the shape, i would try and mimic a functioning Ytong nest with a similar species.

In australia we call it Hebel, but I got it from my local hardware store (Bunnnings & Mitre 10).
