Re: About ants
No, and in most cases exposing your ants to direct sun will cook them.
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.

Thnx
Re: About ants
I would strongly recommend taking the test tube and putting it in a dark space, like a closet and leaving her there. Try to check up on her as little as you can. I usually go 5 days to a week. If you disturb the queen to much there is a risk of her getting stressed out and eating her eggs.

Re: About ants
Ants are actually photophobic, meaning they are afraid of light. Queens will stop laying eggs or even eat their eggs if they are in light, or for any reason they are stressed.
"God made every kind of wild beasts and every kind of livestock and every kind of creeping things;" (including ants) "and God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:25
