What is a good ant science fair project I can do to win?

I heard of someone trying to find the best deterrents to see what could keep invading ants at bay.

I read that someone put different foods the same distance from a wild ant nest entrance. Found out which food was preferred. Then moved the preferred food further away, while keeping the other food near the nest entrance to see how far the ants would travel to the preferred food.

If you have more than one colony you could heat the nest of one and not the other, keep one in the dark and one in light, one could have a soil nest and the other no soul nest. There are lots of different things you could try.

Somewhere on here there was mention of feeding coloured water/sugar water to see which ants are feeding the ones in the nest.
