A New Type of Colony

Hey guys. So today I went out digging in my backyard. I accidentally dug up a ant colony. I waited for the colony to move in to another nest 3 feet away. After I watched them move their entire colony to the new nest, I continued to dig. Before I got my shovel in I noticed a small white ant like creture in their nest. I continued to dig and found a small colony of termites connected to the ant nest. Today I collected most of the termite colony. I'm thinking of starting my own. I'm just wondering why would an ant colony and a termite colony live interconnected and in harmony? Thanks. :D :?: :!:

I doubt they were inter connected. Just a few inches of clay can separate the two. Ants usually love to eat termites and usually aren't that close to one another BUT working construction I have opened up a wall in a house and found ants living only one stud space apart form termites.
