Pseudomymex Care
I have recently acquired a colony of pseudomyrmex, there's about 6 workers and one Queen. I'm not able to find much information about them online, so I would appreciate it if anyone could let me know absolutely anything they know about them. All I know is that they have a good grip and prefer to nest in twigs/wood.
Keeper of:
Solenopsis invicta
Camponotus pennsylvanicus
Pseudomyrmex gracilis x2
Crematogaster laeviuscula
Odontomachus haematodus
Looking for:
Pogonomrymex rugosus
Atta texana
Anything that isn't a fire ant...

Re: Pseudomymex Care
I would give them a test tube setup plugged with cotton and a little piece of airline tubing as the nest entrance. That should keep them happy. When in doubt, try Drosophila.
If you enjoy my expertise and identifications, please do not put wild populations at risk of disease by releasing pet colonies. We are responsible to give our pets the best care we can manage for the rest of their lives.
Re: Pseudomymex Care
I actually moved them into a natural nest with a flower for nectar, because I found a hollow palm branch that's kind of like a test tube. I think they will like it, if not I kept their founding test tube in there.Batspiderfish wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2017 6:24 pmI would give them a test tube setup plugged with cotton and a little piece of airline tubing as the nest entrance.
