Double Checking My Outworld Design

Hello, I'm an antkeeper from Katy, Texas. Throughout the last year, I've been learning about ant care, diet, and other miscellaneous information. Right now, I am keeping three Solenopsis geminata queens, but I'm not interested in keeping them due to their hostility. Instead, I will be keeping a carpenter ant colony (Camponotus sp.). I was wondering if anybody here had a natural nest, because I need to know how to heat them and moisturize them in a natural setup. (My setup is made out of: Field dirt, rocks, rotten wood, small plants that I will be trimming, and vaseline as the barrier.) My plan was to put a reptile heating pad under one side of their nest, and keep the other side natural room temperature (Which is around 75 Fahrenheit), and for moisture spray the plants and wood every morning with a spray bottle (To stimulate morning dew). Does anybody have a better, or different way of doing things? :?

That is a nice setup. You don't need the wood as Camponotus can nest in the ground.

Go ahead. Make sure the plants can handle the temperature you're keeping it at.

Make sure you don't clog up the setup TOO much, as you will need to be able to reach the garbage deposits and graveyards to clean out the outworld. So make sure you can reach just about everywhere or atleast see just about everywhere in your outworld. :D

Not needed in natural nests, especially if springtails or some other scavenging insect is added.

Thanks! The outworld isn't too clogged, but I made a natural setup because I wanted their dead to fertilize the plants. :D
