Catnip plants sold at pet shops

It might not be news to anybody else but I bought a pot of catnip at a pet shop and it turns out it is numerous catnip seedlings, not one plant. So I separated chunks of seedlings and planted some in my ant colonies to see how that goes (maybe roots will support tunnel walls?) and planted other chunks outside so neighborhood cats can smell it if they want. I'm not sure if the plants ever saw actual sunlight before so I put a few leaves over them so they don't get sunburned. Its not important info, but your ants or neighborhood cats might like it if you plant some. Or not. :|

The Good Ants either didn't like the catnip plants in there and killed them, or they dig too much to keep them alive. The catnip in the other ones are still alive. I also sprinkled in some lettuce, carrot, swiss chard, and radish seeds to see what happens. Maybe they will sprout and stabilize the dirt a little. Or the ants will eat the seeds. Either way is okay.
