Hi,
I recently caught a queen during its nuptial flight. It was not moving at all when i caught her but started moving when my container touched her. After i caught her, she was busy pacing the test tube but after that she stopped and did not move, just like when i caught her. Is this normal? Should i be worried?

Where did you catch her? Was it on a hot driveway or something? She might be dehydrated, does she have water?antsSG wrote:Hi,

Catch a few queens because you never know if there fertile and some die for unknown reasons. You can always release them later on if you have too many. About 3-4 in every 10 die or are not fertile, at least that is what I have heard.

She was on a wall next to a somewhat forested area. I just happened to see it.

That seems normal. All my queens do that when the get settled into there tube. As long as she has water and is not being disturbed there is nothing else you can do. Only time will tell. It the time being catch some more queens since she might be infertile. Good luckantsSG wrote:She was on a wall next to a somewhat forested area. I just happened to see it.
