Tetramorium in Northern states?

I've been going out after rainstorms but I haven't been able to find any queens other than Camponotus. Has anyone else been able to find any Tetramorium?

Currently in Chicago Camponotus and a few of my friends caught Formica.
An ants' strength can be rivaled by few animals compared to relative body size.

What type of Formica? I thought Formica only flew in July.

Some of the rufa group Formica fly in May and June (as well as Formica pacifica on the west coast). I have also seen the odd fusca-group queen running around in the spring. Sometimes it's a fluke, a queen who had to leave her original nest.

June and early July are the seasons for Tetramorium. If they aren't flying now, they will be soon. Their flights happen in the earliest hours of the morning and they are mostly underground by late afternoon.

Usually about 4-8 o'clock, yet I'm just guessing.

Be an ant-keeper before a GAN farmer. catching too many queens is a classic mistake.

Formica around here fly in late June. (F. montana)

I found about 10 Tetramorium Male alates on one of the windows of my house. I was wondering if this means a nuptial flight is going to happen soon. There is a thunderstorm where I live right now.
