Hello, was wondering if AntsCanada had a estimate number of how many ants each omni nest holds.
for a small size ant species "Tetramorium sp. E".

looking to buy one. just wondering on how many each can probably hold
Omni Nest™ XL
Omni Nest™ Large
Omni Nest™ Small
Omni Nest™ Vertical – Large
Omni Nest™ Vertical – Small

example:

Omni Nest™ Small holds 2000+

something like that. :?:

Hello,

If you're talking about a small ant like Tetramorium, then all of the formicariums above hold thousands of ants. Even the small holds thousands of ants. It is hard to give an exact estimate because the numbers are quite big and I don't think any of us have actually counted lol. The XL can hold several thousands based on my estimation and we recommend only those with already large established colonies to use them. Just take a look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVhfiRgAFJU That colony is probably around 50,000 - 100,000 ants. The species in the video, Solenopsis geminata, are about the same size as Tetramorium sp E.

Hope this helps!
