Can omni nest's included outworld be customized with grout and stuff

Sorry, is the question can you customise outworlds, Omni nests or both?
If outworlds: YES go nuts, one of the best bits of ant keeping is customising their living space.
If nest: I feel like it would be quite difficult to put things in the nest and I don't think it is necessary.

just be careful that you dont cover the screws or you'll never get that outworld off again!
edit: also it appears that covering that tube makes it seem like a great place for the ants to nest... not what I had in mind, oh well they'll move when they decide it's too dry in there
