I saw a Pogonomermex queen today and i live in Maryland. Does anyone else see those? I've never seen one so i dont know how rare a sighting is.

There is no Pogonomyrmex past Texas besides P.badius and that is only in Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, etc. What you saw is much more likely to be Manica or Myrmica or something of the sort.

I would call it Myrmica sp. because trying to tell the difference between Myrmica species is near impossible without a great microscope and loads of skill.
