Hello! I am not sure if this question have been asked numerous times, I tried searching but no luck so far. so I'm throwing it here:
I recently acquired a small diacamma rugosum colony from a friend with 20+ workers and some broods, today some of the pupae hatched to be male drones. as far as my little knowledge with this specie, there are only 2 reasons for male drones hatching, one, it's the periodic laying of male drones from a mature colony or the gamergate from the colony given to me is an infertile one. If there are other reason why, please let me know.
so my question:
Will these male drones be able to mate with the colony internally? or do I have introduce an unrelated male drone to this colony for this colony to survive?
thank you in advance!
