Hi, So I have a lasius neoniger queen, and I was wondering when I should put her in the garage to hibernate. temperatures this week where I'm at will be 82 high and 39 low. Generally the temperatures will be in the sixties to seventies. What temperatures should it be when I hibernate her?

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

Once it starts to consistently get cool and you don't see insects often outside. I live in South Dakota and I will probably start the hibernation process at the end of this month.

Cool, I also live in south dakota! I like to hibernate them earlier, so they can wake up in like December, and get an early start to the year.

So when are you planning on it? Maybe I'll try that.

So do I!
