I’m just looking for information about this particular species. I’ve done some research already but new things always come up :D

My main questions however, are, how hardy are these ants? Are they relatively easy to keep? Are they picky in the type of food they eat?

If I’m not mistaken they’re temp parasitic and only need host ants initially but then lay their own eggs right? I just want some clarification on this ^^^

Thank you in advance!

All Formica are relatively easy to keep. And yes, they will lay their own eggs once they have host workers. Although introducing host workers may be difficult.
