I caught a lasius niger queen this year on the 22 of June.
Since then the colony has grown a lot , they now have over 60 workers, too many larvae for me to count and a good amount of puppae.
Everything seems ok, although some of the new formed puppae did not produce a cacon like they should had.
Is there something to wory about?

Re: Need help whith lasius colony
Cocoons are optional. Cocoons evolved to help protect the pupa from pathogens and hyper-sensitive adults that are ready to kill brood at the earliest signs of infection, but numerous subfamilies neither have nor need them.
If a larva doesn't get an opportunity to be buried and/or anchor its silk to start the weaving process, they will forgo that step and pupate *****.
