As a general rule you do not buy queens on their own, you either find them (since that costs you much less) or buy a colony with a few or many, many workers because if it is just a queen there is a chance she is infertile, and workers are one of the only ways to tell without specialized equipment. ;) Also see AntsCanada's GAN project to see if you can buy a colony in your area. :mrgreen:

I'm new to ant keeping so my colonies are all still in test tubes. :roll: :?

Mikeys video on the subject
Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
