Hello,
One of my 60 queens is scattering her eggs and i have no idea why, they are all kept in a shoe box in a draw, so all conditions are the same for each of them.
Any idea whats going on?
many thanks,
kyle

Re: Egg Scattering !
When eggs are scattered, it's a sign that the queen isn't fertilised. Check to see if the queen is caring for the eggs though. If the eggs are in piles but still scattered I wouldn't worry as much. If they are separate and the queen isn't caring for them, there's a chance they'll just turn out to be male alates and the colony is doomed.
Re: Egg Scattering !
maybe she is infertile then as they single eggs all over the test tube.
much thanks,

Re: Egg Scattering !
Although it is a sign that she is infertile it is not guaranteed I've seen someone raise a colony that did the same thing in the founding stage and that same colony now has 20ish workers
