I recently started keeping Camponouus atrox. It contains 1queen and 8workers.
I was planning to and another samll colony of these ants to have multi queens. But from my reserch i found out that in natural these ants rarly have multi queens. What chould i do. Will my ants join forces with each other if I connect their two test tubes or will they fight . What do you think? :?:

I would listen to what the internet says
and if it says they rarely have multiple queens I wouldn't combine them unless your ok if you lose a colony or both .

merging two colonies can be disastrous and very risky. I would recommend not to merge them. You could potentially loose both the colonies.

MOST CAMPONOTUS SPECIOUS DON'T USUALLY HAVE MULTIPLE QUEENS.

EVEN IF THEY HAVE THE TWO QUEENS WILL GO UNDER FOUNDING PROCESS WITHOUT A PROBLEM BUT AFTER FEW WORKERS ARRIVE THEY QUEENS WILL START TO FIGHT AND FILL SPRAY FORMIC ACID AT EACH OTHER AND ONLY ONE QUEEN WILL REMAIN OR EVEN BOTH QUEENS MIGHT DIE

POLYRHACHIS DIVES ARE POLYGYNOUS HAVING TWO TO FOUR QUEENS
TODAY I CAUGHT A POLYRHACHIS DIVES QUEEN AND ADDED TO A COLONY OF 3 WORKERS BUT THE OLDER QUENN BITE THE NEW ONE AND EVEN REMOVED A LEG SO I SUGGEST YOU BETTER NOT FUSE YOUR COLONIES

They will fight to the death. Colonies have their own distinct pheromone and will attack anything that doesn't have that pheromone. Also, queens will fight to the death if put together with some species (called monogylous species). The queens will not tolerate one another. Human nations only has one leader.
