Non ant related id!
This think was hanging off an earwig in my plum tree out back neck deep in 'em with his probiscous. Looks like a yellow/green stinkbug but had a mantis head and forelegs. One of the coolest bugs I've ever seen.

A local beekeeper took much better photos of these fellas than I did.

Yes actually I do! They're a predatory insect called an ambush bug, Phymantinae, a subspecies of assassin bugs. Pretty neat little critters, and damn strong for their size.
In the course of finding this out I've come to learn that this type of foreleg appendage is called a raptorial arm, and is an example of convergent evolution in insects/crustaceans/arachnids as several seemingly unrelated species have similarly functioning forelegs.
