Is it too late now?

I caught two queens a day ago and went to go looking for more today but I could not find anything! I want more than just two in case they don't make it. Is it just too late for queens now or am I still able to find them, I searched for quite a while today and found nothing, well as a day ago, they seemed to be everywhere! I hope it isn't too late!

I have found 7 and i am in new jersey. Just walk in different places every other day. I have had two days where i haven't found any and i have started the 16th

My main problem is just never knowing where to look! I live in a suburban area surrounded by forest and woods and I search the pavements all the time and hardly see any queens. I haven't even seen a nest undergoing nuptial flight yet, it's just really difficult to find them for some strange reason, I've only caught two this year.

I live in similar situation and I have caught 14 queens this season. Just look where they would normally nest. I caught camponotus queen at the base of a big tree where camponotus are already nested. I found a lasius umbratus lurking around pavement. I found a Formica on the side of my house near the garden.

But like, what are flying now? Is there still going to be queens wandering at this time?

Queens can fly until September

I also live in Southern England and I had a flight last week but that was it. As you probably know by now the weather is really unprectible so wait until a warm day and keep an eye out. usually there is about a week of queens then you just find a few every so often. I currently have 5 queens caught in the span of 2 days so just try and spot another queen but if you can't find another 1 just concentrate on ensuring your current 2 live

Thank you all for the advice, my two Lasius queens are both currently laying eggs and looking healthy, I really hope they both make it in case I don't find any other queens and also I have two Lasius hybrid nests waiting for them, so hopefully they will be okay.

Whenever you find Queens, make note of the temperature, whether it rained the day before, and the time you found them. I find the Nuptial flights where I live are based on temperature since we don't get any rain in the summer. Good luck with lasius, I haven't had much luck with mine.

Yeah um what I said definitely wasn't true. They can fly even in november sometimes depending on the species, weather, and location.
