Camponotus sansabeanus new queen / general care info
I'm new this is my first queen and I have her in a test tube setup and would like tips from everyone and how to properly care for this species and how long tell she lays eggs? I'm so excited

I would put her in a test tube setup and somewhere dark. If your room is air conditioned you might want to put a heating cable near the test tube. Remember not to check on her too often because she might get stressed out. Camponotus is a really good genus because the workers are big and polymorphic, so you should have a lot of fun!! you might need a bigger formicarium later on because the colonies can get massive. Once the queen lays eggs, it should take two to six months to get workers (if you catch your quen right before winter she may hibernate, i dont think it will take long for you though). COngradulations!!
