I believe I have a solenopsis invicta queen. I have this nest of ants in my back yard that I think she came from. The ants have a red head and a black gaster. The guys hurt really bad when they sting you however I don't get a blister from it.

I live in north georgia.

Please tell me what you think

Maybe it's a fire ant. Could you post a picture of her to a website like imgur then give us the link so that we can identify her

of course, I also found a few other queens. I will tell you what I think they are, I really don't bother them much, they stay in my closet in a sock thats then in a box.

I have to saw I thought I'd never find a queen ant, but just from looking around where I went I found 6. Its really neat to know if you really look for something you will find it.
