Leaving ants on holidays?

First post and question!

What are your opinions on leaving ants at home? I usually leave them with a friend while I'm away but what are other ways to leave them while you're on a holiday? I'm referring to about 2 months. I also live in Australia, which means hibernation isn't a thing for my ants.

What are some alternatives to leaving them with friends?

You could create an automatic ant feeder that is like a tub filled with cock roaches and another filled with honey that is pushed out daily to fit the ants portion sizes

That wouldn't work for two months... yuk.
Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

I live in a house, not a factory.

You can get pots of protein jelly and just poke a hole in the lid to let ants in then leave it in their foraging area. If you have a large colony I would suggest using 2 pots (pots are small)
