Ant outworld ideas

Has anyone ever tried putting a tube out the window and making the outside the out world. You wouldnt really need to feed them lol. Just a crazy idea i thought up of. 8-)

The problem with that is that the ants would find the outside a more favorable location for their nest and you would be stuck with an empty formicarium.
